What do you do at MedAssets? 

I have been with MedAssets for nearly three years.  I started out as the Contract Support Specialist for Capital Equipment, Administrative Services, and Executive Services.  Within a year’s time I moved teams, and currently I’m the Contract Specialist for the Food & Nutrition Program, Administrative Services, and the Executive Director of Materials Management.  As a Contract Support Specialist it was my main responsibility to support the day-to-day operations on all vendor agreements assigned to my various programs.  I also maintained all the data entered into the Contract Data System, including price files, which are the background to our CDQuick Catalog System.  Along with maintaining and supporting the Contracting System and director’s portfolios, I was responsible for the day–to-day operations, schedules and general support to four Contracting Directors, and the Executive Director of the Materials Management Division.  

Just recently I was promoted to Contract Manager position where I will the ability to manage my portfolio of vendor agreements, and provide opportunity to build upon current vendor relationships to establish better purchasing opportunities for our member facilities.

 
What do you like most about your job?

The best part of my position is the interaction with people throughout the contracting process. Most importantly working with the vendor community on establishing relationships; which then in turn I can pass along to help workout pricing concerns with our members.  It is those same relationships that I take back to our sales team and other internal employees to help them grow our business.

 
What do you like most about working at MedAssets?

The people!  Our office can be very busy at times.  However everyone understands that we all are very busy, yet at the same time we are a team.  No one is afraid to ask for assistance, our help on something.   Everyone understands that by helping each other we are helping the team.

What’s your most memorable moment at MedAssets?
I would have to say attending my first MedAssets Annual Healthcare Business Summit in Las Vegas.  It is a lot of work and takes a lot of time to prepare for every year.  But it was a great opportunity for me to visit with the entire MedAssets family.  It made me realize that my position is no less important than the CEO’s.  We all have a huge impact on the relationships we build to ultimately save our customers money.
