MedAssets uses a team-based research approach to determine the needs of our customers and to offer the best value, broad-based contracts and services.  We strive for beneficial financial outcomes for all partners.  All awards are processed with the followings contracting steps, and the final award approval is made in the MedAssets contracting office in based on customer direction. 
 
Contracting Steps
Step one:  Needs assessment 
  • Input from MedAssets Contracting Advisory Committees (see Quality Assurance Program) for each contracting program
  • Analysis of customer and industry needs 
  • Market research with customers, trend analysis of products, new product development 
  • Inputs from vendors via our web site, meetings, and mailings 
Step two:  Request for information 
  • RFI submitted to gain information from marketplace
  • Market research on product information
  • Survey of customer base and/or committee members on RFI results
Step three:  Analysis of RFI submissions 
  • Customer coordination
  • Committee inputs
  • Market research on data submitted 
Step four:  Request for Proposal/Contract Template submitted for proposals 
  • Specifications sent with bid  
Step five:  Analysis of bids
  • Financial analysis
  • Analysis of bids to customer needs
  • Committee inputs as appropriate
Step six:  Negotiations by contracting staff
Step seven:  Contract award (using program/customer guidance)
Step eight:  Implementation
  • e-Catalog input
  • Customer communications via web, newsletters, RDs, e-mails, direct mailings
  • RAMP (MedAssets Internal sales/tracking tool)
Step nine:  Evaluation
  • Verification of utility to customer
  • Sales data evaluation and comparison to estimate
  • Verification of accurate data collection
  • Modification if necessary, up to and including cancellation if necessary
